From what I’ve heard it’s a fine superhero movie that isn’t a superhero movie, and does well within the increasingly over-used ‘found footage’ genre. News: The Avengers – New Trailer, New Poster, New Name?
Posted in Comics, Movies, News, Poster, Thoughts, Trailer with tags Avengers Assemble, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Emma Peel, Jeremy Renner, John Steed, Joss Whedon, Leviathan, Mark Ruffalo, Marvel, Marvel's The Avengers, Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, The Artist, The Avengers, Tom Hiddleston on February 29, 2012 by Bjorn GraingerYep, it’s there on the brand new poster. Here in the UK Marvel’s The Avengers will be known as Avengers Assemble. As Marvel have failed to come out and say anything, most people are assuming this down to legal issues with The Avengers TV series starring John Steed and Emma Peel. It would be surprising if Marvel changed it to avoid confusion with the ’60s series because I don’t think many people would make that mistake. That said, some folk really did ask for refunds after seeing The Artist because it was a silent movie…
That’s enough of that, though. That’s not why you’re here. You guys want to see the fantastic new Avengers trailer that we rumoured about last week, don’t you? Well, here it is! Continue reading
