It’s the one hundred year anniversary of Universal Pictures. If you’ve watched any of their films recently, it’s hard to escape the fact. The recent release of Jaws on Blu-Ray takes nearly sixteen years to begin for all the Universal promos banging on. Skip it? Yeah, you think you’re getting the movie and then they trick you with ANOTHER clip of a film you don’t want to see. I want the shark, not Robert Redford. I know, I’m being harsh, but don’t bug us with other films when we’ve paid good money for this one. Anyway, Universal Pictures CEO Steve Burke says they’re going to focus on “franchises and animation”. Continue reading

The Bourne Legacy poster claims “There was never just one”. We know this. We’ve seen the Bourne trilogy. Those assassins sent to take Jason out after his memory problems? Pretty sure they’re all part of the programme. But hey, that’s just a silly poster. The film won’t make those types of mistakes… will it? Read on.

It’s truly exciting year for those of us who love our action-packed spy thrillers. Not only is Bond back but it seems he’s in top form with Skyfall (I saw the IMAX trailer before a showing of The Dark Knight Rises and was BLOWN AWAY), but we also have a return of the Bourne series with The Bourne Legacy. Replacing Matt Damon, Jeremy Renner now heads up the franchise as Operation Treadstone comes to an end and powerful forces try to tie up loose ends by disposing of their assets. Continue reading

News: The New Bourne Legacy Trailer Is BRILLIANT

Posted in Movies, Trailer with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 1, 2012 by Bjorn Grainger

Jeremy Renner is having a hell of a year – He saw it in with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocolowned it by being a member of The Avengers, and will end the summer as Matt Damon’s replacement in The Bourne Legacy. Even Liam Neeson will have a problem topping that line-up and he’s in virtually everything. The question is, though, why should we care about the new Bourne film? Wasn’t it all settled in The Bourne Ultimatum? Continue reading

I arrived late to the Bourne franchise. I sat there piously thinking I was better than Matt Damon and his silly trilogy. How wrong I was. They are some of the finest Hollywood action movies of the last decade. Of course, seeing how well they did at the box office it was inevitable there would be a follow-up to the series and here it is – The Bourne Legacy. Continue reading
